In a town where the words ramshackle and overcrowded seem to accompany any observation Parrilladas el Toro is a breath of fresh air. Walking through the glass front doors and into the spacious, marble-floored dining area is like entering a king’s quarters. Precisely set tables with wooden-back chairs spread out across the room, astride a classy bar area and walls appointed with Guayasamin reprints. This is the perfect spot for a romantic rendezvous, or to share a bottle of wine and a few drinks with friends. An open-air seating area located towards the back, the centerpiece of which is a lovely fountain, is a great way to breeze through a meal. The warm and welcoming staff is another bonus.
