Hotel San Marena - Hotel Mompiche - Ecuador

While most Mompiche accommodations are rustic, relying heavily on thatch and bamboo, San Marena is more in line with the clean, budget hotels found in the United States (Day's Inn or Red Roof spring to mind). The rooms are large and have fans, televisions and DVD players. Guests can also buy Internet cards for their computers at the reception desk. The hotel has space for 46 people in 14 rooms, all of which have private bathrooms and balconies, including one room for five or more people with an extra-large patio. The restaurant downstairs is one of the only places in Mompiche where you can order chicken and meat, in addition to seafood dishes. The only drawback is that San Marena is about a five-minute walk from the beach (the furthest in town) and has no ocean views. The hotel is also across from the town's busy little store.

Head away from the beach down Mompiche's main drag. San Marena is one of the last buildings on your left on the road out of town.
