This is a typical almuerzo (lunch) restaurant that specializes in breakfast. For two bucks, take the big plunge and get the breakfast (supposedly smaller, but note the dripping sarcasm) portion of fried or shrimp al ajillo that comes with rice, menestras (typical coastal beans) and patacones. You can also get a more traditional breakfast for two bucks: eggs, two rolls, coffee (that looks like clear water) and juice. No worries, the service is kind of random and a little slow, but you are at the beach so look out at the waves, chill out, your hearty meal will eventually show up. In the meantime, cross your fingers that the Pilsener truck just made a delivery and order a frosty brew, ‘cause it’s five o’clock somewhere.

Getting There: If you are facing the beach, el economico is on the left side of the road that runs perpendicular to the water. when you get to the crossroads of the two roads, it is the second restaurant on the left.
