Located on a secluded strip of beach away from the blaring bars and packed streets of Atacames, Same is little more than a quiet stretch of exclusive apartment buildings for vacationing Quiteños, with the odd hotel squeezed in among them. Although it can feel a bit deserted, it’s a nice spot to spend the day. Those prepared to blow a few bucks can head up to Club Casablanca, which spreads out across the adjacent hillside like a white fortress for the wealthy. This is not the place for backpackers and penny-pinchers, but certainly a great getaway for those with means. Back beachside, there are a couple of options for sleeping and eating, though availability seems to depend more on the owner and time of year than physical presence of a room to spare.
