Bahía de Caráquez is well connected to destinations all across Ecuador. There are regular daily bus services to Guayaquil (6 hours, $5), Quito (8 hours, $8), Manta (2-3 hours, $2), Portoviejo (1.5-2 hours, $1.20) as well as many other smaller destinations.

To get to the popular baech destination of Canoa, take the passenger ferry to San Vincente ($0.30), a town which sits on the opposite side of the Río Chone from Bahía. The ferry is found past the gas station and market area towards the right. From San Vincente regular buses run along the main road to Canoa ($0.35).
