Getting to and away from Bahía de Caráquez

Bahía de Caráquez is well connected to destinations all across Ecuador, and all long-distance buses leave from the Bahia de Caráquez bus terminal at the sound end of the Malecón ($2 taxi ride to get there, 5 minutes). There are regular, daily bus services to Guayaquil (5 hours, $5), Quito (7 hours, $8), Manta (2 hours, $2), Portoviejo (1-1.5 hours, $1.20) as well as many other smaller destinations.

To get to the popular beach destination of Canoa, buses ($1, 45 mins) leave regularly from the bus terminal in Bahia. This trip crosses the bridge to San Vincente - a town which sits on the opposite side of the Río Chone from Bahía - and affords you with beautiful views of the beach and bluffs along the way.
