Commanding a quiet, sandy corner of the main street, Hotel Bambu is a popular traveler hangout and good place to rest your head. Accommodation ranges from cheap to more expensive (by Canoa standards), from a simple hammock and breach breeze to a more elaborate room with private balcony and bathroom, and big comfy bed. Camping spots and private cabins are another option. There is a restaurant and bar, which serves a tempting array of national and international dishes, including salad, crepes, sandwiches and ice cream. Travelers seem to congregate around the beach-like yard, where beach chairs, hammocks, and wooden tables make cozy spots to curl up with a book or catch a bit of shut eye. The sound of waves breaking in the distance, mixed with the hypnotic rustling of wind chimes is bound to lull even the javaholics to sleep. Ever environmentally conscious, the bar does not sell beverages in plastic bottles due to ecological concerns and a free cocktail is the reward for turning in a bag full of trash colleted from the beach. The owner also runs Casa Bambu in Quito and Cabañas Bambusa in Mindo, which has 8 rooms and cabins for four people, volleyball and soccer fields, numerous hammocks and a bar. Good matresses! New bathrooms, Clean, good savety, the view on the beach and the river with the nice romantic sunsets! The happy hour with good cocktails and nice barpeolpe, very nice food! nice crepes and "pescado encocado" mmmmm...
