Newly opened Shaka Beach Hostal is a lovely place just one step from the beach. The hostel is run by a friendly young dynamic team and is the perfect place to hang out and meet local surfers. Ask Byron if you are interested in surf lessons. Amenities include hot showers and a nice restaurant.

From Quito or Guayaquil take a bus to Bahía de Caráquez, then take a small ferry to cross to San Vincente. From there take a bus or taxi to Canoa.

Great Place

Spent a few days at this very beautiful new place in Canoa! I very much liked the pancakes for breakfast and the "para picar" and cocktails were delicious. The owner, Byron, is very friendly.

I spent a lovely week in this newly opened hostal. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They serve good breakfast and drinks. The hammocks are great. It is just one block from the beach and perfect for going out to nearby bars.
