Punta Prieta Guest House is a lovely place to pass the time and soak up some Pacific views. The establishment is located just off the road from Jama, between Pedernales and Canoa. Punta Prieta Guest House is perched cliff-side overlooking the ocean and is as visually pleasing as the beds are comfortable. At the guest house, salt air and fresh seafood are as ubiquitous as the seaside views. Owner Alonso Ordoñez welcomes guests with genuine warmth, and if you’re lucky he may even introduce you to the resident Galápagos tortoise and itinerant iguanas that roam the grounds. Those on a budget can ask about camping on the beach; for a small fee you can also use the showers and bathrooms. Cabins range from budget-friendly to slightly-more-of-a-splurge, but the use of shared kitchens and refrigerators are included in the price. To sample the local fare, head to the on-site restaurant, where you can indulge in the catch of the day and enjoy the view. Reservations are recommended.
