Relaxing and remote, Los Frailes is widely considered one of the most gorgeous beaches along the Pacific coastline, and it's easy to see why:  its lovely landscape includes pristine waters and sweeping white sand, beautifully backdropped by lush, forested bluffs.  

From Puerto Lopez you can visit the beach through a guided tour or on your own.  The Machalilla National Park entrance fee includes Los Frailes, and many people maximize their ticket by exploring Isla de la Plata and Los Frailes.  If you decide to just visit the beach, you'll still have to shell out cash.  Once you pass the entrance gate, it's a 3.2 km (2 mile) trek to the beach.
