Balandria is a self-sufficient paradise tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood only 50 meters from Murciélago Beach and the hotel offers stylish and comfortable lodging that is perfect for families or large groups. The mock-cabin studios, topped with green roofs and wooden balconies, overlook plenty of greenery and both a peaceful garden and pool area. The cabins are tastefully constructed and mildly reminiscent of a luxury jungle lodge. You won’t find monkeys here though, just a friendly staff and smartly decorated two-level suites. The hotel’s on-site restaurant also cooks up a delightful range of dishes, served on peach-colored table cloths with sparkling wine glasses and precisely set cutlery. From the veranda, you can take in stunning sea views while you dine. The menu is extensive -- crepes and beef stroganoff even make an appearance -- and well priced for the surroundings. The restaurant is open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Entrees: $5-8.
