Previously La Riviera Italian Restaurant, this lovely building, set in a peaceful residential neighborhood, has been renovated and revamped and now houses one of the nicest hostals on this side of town. Modest rooms are tastefully appointed with new beds, bedspreads, and furniture, and brand new gizmos like remote-control air conditioners and TVs. Bathrooms are small, but modern, clean, and equipped with shining sinks and plenty of hot water. When you awake from a solid night’s sleep on that brand new mattress, head to the stylish dining area or down to the breezy courtyard where you can start your day with a plate of bread and jam, fruit (fresh from the local market), and coffee. He’s particularly knowledgeable about Manta’s top dining dives. Comfy, but classy accommodation at reasonable prices and in a stellar location would be enough to make any traveler stay a while, so the extremely friendly staff is just another bonus, that, like breakfast, is included in the price of the room. Great definition about Manakin. The staff are friendly and make you stay comfortable. I have been to the other expensive hotels in Manta. Hotel Manakin, to me, is the best choice.
