Hotel

By Dawn Wohlfarth Arteaga

A comfortable budget hostel located with a strip of similar hostels off the main strip (to the right if you are approaching Mindo from the main access road). Family-owned and clean, there is only room for 14 guests, so if you notice the place is looking fairly desolate, you may be able to get a price drop – the regular price is $5 per person. A community kitchen adds to the convenience. Bring flip flops or slippers, no shoes are allowed inside.

Traveler Reviews of Hostal Gypsy

Nice but be prepared to share...!

Rating: 50%

Hostal Gypsy was cheap and cheerful. The price was very reasonable, and the rooms were nice enough for the price that we paid. The owners were friendly and they will cook meals, especially if meals are requested in advance. Overall, my stay was fine, but I am not a fan of bugs, of which there were quite a few rather large ones in my room that I had to share with!
