On the left as you enter Mindo, the Hostal Melyang is a clean, friendly, family-run bargain at $5 per person for a room with private bath. The rustic building boasts an impressive tropical garden sprinkled with tables, chairs and hammocks.
Beware: The walls are thin, and the hotel can get quite loud. If you're worried about noisy neighbors, this may not be the place for you.
