La Casa de Cecilia - Hostel Mindo - Ecuador

Tucked away on a dirt path a few minutes south of the plaza, La Casa de Cecilia is a clean and cozy lodge. This place is a real steal for the budget traveler. Its main lodge and cabins are spread along a rocky riverside, and the river's rushing waters provide a soothing soundtrack to travelers lounging in one of the balcony's hammocks. The main lodge has several rooms to accommodate singles or groups. Across the street are two cabins that cater more to families and couples (ask for the matrimonial). Rooms either have shared or private bathrooms, all of which have hot water. Cecilia whips up breakfast for $2-3.50 each morning in the open-air restaurant. Laundry service, luggage storage and activity/excursion tips are all available.
