Puerto Quito

This little town squatting on the shores of the Río Caoni was, ironically, originally intended to be the capital’s port (hence the name). Today, it sits smack dab in the middle of the main circuit to the coast vía Quito, Calacalí and La Independencia.

An area of extreme natural beauty, bisected by the Caoni and its tributaries, the lands surrounding Puerto Quito are divided by a number of reserves and dotted with good resorts.
