Getting to and away from Puerto Quito

Puerto Quito is easily reachable from Quito via a four-hour bus ride. Trans Esmeraldas has four buses per day that leave for the city of Esmeraldas, passing Puerto Quito on the way (12:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m., 8:40 p.m. and 11:55 p.m.). Tickets cost $4 each way. Some of its buses to Atacames also stop in Puerto Quito; confirm at the ticket office. Trans Esmeraldas buses leave from both Quitumbe bus station (02-382-4791) in the south of Quito and from a more central location in the Mariscal neighborhood: Santa Mariá and 9 de Octubre (Tel: 02-250-5099). To get to the lodges outside of Puerto Quito, you will need to take a taxi, if you do not have your own car.
