Ayampe
Ayampe is a tiny sleepy fishing village just recently being awakened by tourism. The town is surrounded by rain forest, excellent views and top-notch surfing. It's the perfect place to get away from the crowds of Montañita, relax in nature and meet friendly local fishermen. The beach is clean and always free of crowds, but bring water shoes or grit your teeth, as it is fairly rocky. The currents are exceptionally strong and great care must be taken while swimming or even wading in the ocean.
