With capacity for 100 people including camping space, Las Cabañas Tortuga is a clean, spacious, interesting and child-friendly spot. A private beach a few steps away from hotel makes a great place to cool off. There is also a game room, a children's area with bikes and cars for kids, a pool table, a ping pong table and a TV with a satellite dish and a selection of DVDs. The prices listed here are for low season, expect to pay more during the high tourist season.

Private transportation is available from Guayaquil, Manta and some of the other nearby cities. Ask ahead and be sure to get the price for the trip you need. Internet is available if you are really desperate, for $0.30/minute. There are kayaks for rent at $5. You can make arrangements to go horseback riding for $10 an hour or go on a tour of Isla de la Plata for $30 per person plus the $15 entrance fee.

The view is great, the beach is beautiful, and the inn offers many amenities that made our stay more than comfortable. If you plan your trip ahead, you can have a guaranteed blast in the area.
