Hotel Las Peñas

Hotel Las Peñas, located above the wonderful bakery “Panadería California” and just one block from Av. 9 de Octubre, is a nice mid-range option if you want a comfortable place to stay. Rooms have a hotel-chain feel to them without the hefty price: they come with private bath, air conditioning, mini-bar, cable TV, telephone and room service. Laundry and private shuttle service are also available. Light sleepers might want to request an inside room to avoid Guayaquil’s street noise.

Traveler Reviews of Hotel Las Peñas

Not to US Standards

Noisy. I was in a streetside room on the first floor. The poorly sealed windows let in as much noise as if they were open. Auto horns and car alarms go off continually. Pillows were more like towels. Bathroom were unclean and shelves were falling off walls. The TV got horrible reception. The neighborhood is not safe and the staff is non-existent. The front desk provides no description of services or amenities. Absolutely not for business travelers.
