Home to Ecuador's largest city, Guayaquil, and to some of Ecuador's sunniest beaches, Guayas is a great spot to beach hop or soak in culture and nightlife in Guayaquil. Cruise down La Ruta del Sol, enjoying the sand and sun (and a few drinks) on your way to the trendy restaurants and holiday homes of Salinas. From here, zip across the coastal plains towards Guayaquil, Ecuador’s main port and commercial crossroads, on your way past the vast tracts of banana plantations, along the coastline south towards Peru. If you're tired of beaching it, make your way inland to the uplands of El Oro, a region suited for trailblazing away from the well-trodden tourist trail. One decent option by which to travel to Guayas is using Reina del Camino buses.
