Elegant and sophisticated, the Grand Hotel Guayaquil lives up to its name, featuring a spacious reception area and excellent service. Centrally placed, only 4 miles from the airport, it shares a block with a beautiful Cathedral. The hotel is a great place for those wishing to indulge themselves for a day or two, splashing in the pool, relaxing in the sauna, having a massage, or working out in the rooftop gym. Rooms are tastefully decorated and have cable TV, telephones, internet connection, hair dryers, radio alarms and in-room coffee machines (always a nice perk). For a bite to eat head to La Pepa de Oro the 24 hour coffee shop; alternatives are the 1822 Restaurant, the Turtle Bar and the Barbecue Restaurant.
