Charo's Hostal has modern rooms with breathtaking ocean views and is right on the boardwalk. Translation: a stone throw away from the sand and waves. It is close enough to the center of town (1 1/2 short blocks), yet at a distance so as to get a restful night's sleep. The rooms are very clean and the staff are friendly. The owners speak English and are very helpful with any general questions you may have about traveling and the town itself. The property is quite large and also has manicured gardens, hammocks, and various plants and trees. At Charo's, you'll also find a restaurant and bar with reasonable prices. The food is excellent and service is much quicker than at other places in the town. There are also rustic economy rooms with two views: street and ocean. All rooms have private bathroom and hot water.

CLP provides direct bus service from the bus terminal in Guayaquil to Montañita three times a day (5:00 a.m, 1:00 p.m, 4:30 p.m.). There are others buses, but you'll need to transfer in Santa Elena. Once you arrive at the Montanita bus stop, walk towar

The owner of this place is one of the nicest, kindest people I have met. The rooms here are clean, comfortable, nice, modern, and cute--balconies with hammocks over looking the ocean are an extreme added bonus. It was amazing to watch the sunset every evening from the hammock right on our balcony. I also had amazing breakfast here, and Charo keeps the kitchen clean and fly-free. This is by far the best place to stay in Montanita and is an extremely great value. I can't wait to go back!

THE SERIVCE WAS EXCELLENT AND THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY. CHARO'S IS A VERY CLEAN HOSTAL AND VERY AFFORDABLE. MY FAMILY AND I ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH AND CANT WAIT TO GO BACK!! IT WILL BE ARE HOTEL CHOICE WHENEVER WE VISIT.
