This may just be the cheapest spot to sleep in Ecuador that has ocean views. At the corner where the beach meets the main east-west road, Rocafuerte, you will find El Centro del Mundo, a three story wooden building with dorm space in the attic and plenty of porch space with hammocks to relax. During high tourist season, you won't want to lounge on your pile of mattresses (no real beds in the dorm space) for long; the rooms higher up get quite steamy even without solid walls. There is a bar, restaurant, pool table, common roof lounge and plenty of porches to relax on and enjoy the view.

Lower:Dorm bed $4, Single $7, Double $14
Higher:Dorm bed $5, Single $12, Double $16
Price Description:High season is from December to August.

My favorite beach hostel

This place was amazing, but a friend of mine had someone break into his room there the day after I left. I dont think this is normal and he probably had his ipod laying out so I am not saying he didn't ask for it. I would suggest bringing your own lock as some of the ones on the doors can be a little light. Otherwise this place is probably my favorite beach hostel.
