The best rooms at Hostal Papaya are upstairs. There are a few downstairs rooms, one with a shared bath that knocks a few dollars off the price, but the upstairs rooms, especially on the third floor, are more colorful, spacious and some have creatively hidden upper loft sleeping areas. On the third floor there is also a pleasant lounge area with hammocks and a birds eye view of the town and the beach, just two blocks away.

The hotel features a restaurant, hot water, and a book exchange. Surfing classes can also be arranged. The staff speaks English, French, and Spanish.
