An eleven-year old hotel with a large pool and even larger concrete buildings, Hotel Baja Montañita has a history of financial difficulties: when the owner fell behind in loan payments, the Ecuadorian government took over and the hotel is doing better now, under its new management. The best rooms are the cabañas to the north. Prices include breakfast.
