Hotels in Montañita tend to be ramshackle, unique, and inexpensive.  A backpacker's paradise, the small town features one inexpensive hostal after another.  Prices listed can be extremely flexible: if you're trying to save money, see if you can cut a deal, especially if you're traveling in a good-sized group or staying for a while.  If you don't like the looks of one place, just keep on walking down the street -- there are lots of places to stay in Montañita.  There are no luxury hotels in town -- no one comes to Montañita to be pampered.  They come to surf and have a great time!
