Paradise South is, ironically, just north of Montañita. The hotel features cool, cave-like rooms with stone walls, and iron frame beds, as well as a spacious lawn right on the beach with a volleyball pit, a grill, pool table, ping pong table and fuseball table shaded by open-air huts. Ask for a room in the cabañas closest to the ocean - they are definitely the nicest.

Laundry is $1.50 per load, breakfast is included in the price and the book exchange features books in English, Spanish and French. If you stay for several days, you can negotiate a lower price.
