Cocos Restaurant and Hostal

The bright and cheerful Cocos Restaurant and Hostal is a good place to pass the time. Modern art adorns the walls, themselves colorful enough without the paintings. A patio-like seating area, smartly decorated with green umbrellas and orange and blue tiles, looks past the Malecón and towards the sea and leads upstairs to the hostal, itself as clean and modern as the restaurant below.

The glass-top tables and clean table cloths area a welcome change from the dominant white plastic tables and chairs, a common Salinas sight. Breakfast is more extensive than other places, but not much more expensive. Menu items cover a range of national and international dishes, including pizza and toasted sandwiches, parilladas and pastas—and of course, seafood. For a meal with pizzazz, try the sangria. Almost always full, this is clearly a popular spot and a good choice if you are looking to meet fellow travelers. CocosTours also operates from the hotel-restaurant, and can organize a number of activities and excursions, including cultural, ecological, and religious tours. Prices depend on the number of people and transport. For information contact Oton Arboleda, owner of the hostal and restaurant.

Traveler Reviews of Cocos Restaurant and Hostal

Cocos Restaurant & Hostel

This is clearly a popular spot in Salinas Beach, and maybe the most friendly place alongside the "Malecon." There you can find the best paellas in town (the typical Spanish and famous dish) made by the owner Oton Arboleda, and a range of national and international dishes.
