Previously known as Rachael Hostal, this place has recently changed owners and seems to have been revamped. A modern entrance leads into a simple, but sparkling reception area adorned with antique chairs and a few plants. Rooms are standard hostel-style, but clean and equipped with private bathrooms, TV, and air conditioning. If you’re in Salinas and pinching for pennies, this is your most comfortable (and best value) option. Also included in the price is breakfast and a free 30 minute boat ride. A good place for young travelers and budgeters. To save even more money while you’re here, head to nearby Cevichelandia for a cheap seafood feed. Servicio de Lancha Las Olas is affiliated with the hostal and arranges fishing and boat tours, and water sports rentals. To check out what’s on offer, head to the beach in front of Costa Bella.
