Set back from the upper-crust joints on the Malecón, Biking Jack Soda Bar is a fun and funky place to grab a bite to eat. Besides offering a good, cheap breakfast (including muesli with fresh fruit and yogurt) and real pressed coffee, this café-style restaurant also serves a variety of grilled sandwiches and juices. Prices are budget inas standards, but without skimping on service or smaller details like wooden sugar bowls and chilled out music. While you eat, talk to Jack, the owner, and organize a biking tour for the day. He runs trips both in Salinas and along La Ruta del Sol up to Montañita, or to the Chocolatera and nearby cascades.
