Hosteria Itapoâ

Named after the owner’s favorite beach in her home country of Brazil, Hostería Itapoâ is about one block from Puerto Lopez’s beach and has a comfortable, tranquil atmosphere. When you first enter, it feels a little like you are trespassing into someone’s backyard. Press on and you will see three cabañas on the left and rooms in a small building on the right of the main garden and eating area. The cabañas are nicer than the other rooms and have private porches with hammocks.

For an extra charge of about $2 a night, you can have unlimited access to the Turkish bath and hot tub. The owner loves to cook and will happily prepare you a meal upon request. During high season, she offers packages which include breakfast and hot tub access.

Itapoa Hostel in Puerto Lopez, Ecuador

We enjoyed the owner Maria who directed us to wonderful restaurants, our whale watching excursion, even laundry. Our cabaña was very comfortable and clean. We loved Scooby the mascot (dog) and breakfasts were delicious. Dinners (on request) were also memorable. We loved the Itapoa and can't wait to go back (next summer).

best one in Puerto Lopez

This is probably the best hostería in Puerto López! The owners are very friendly and help you with everything. They can organize you a boat tour, diving trip, cycling and a lot more. Moreover Raul is a Biologist who offers tours to a rain forest reserve close to Puerto Quito, where you can enroll as a volunteer if you like. I did it and it is definitely worth it. The place has a jacuzzi, a Turkish bath and a nice caféteria where you have your breakfast served.

An great experience

The hosteria Itopoa is one of the best hostals I've ever visit. One of the owners Raul was born in New York and helps with all his passion.

a great and friendly place

We felt at home, Raul and Maria, the owners are really kind and willing to help you at any time. Raul is a biologist who is ready to share his knowledge of nature at once. The place is beautiful and has a new beach front that makes it even better.

great!

i liked the room i was given very much and for a good price. the owner, maria, is the most kindest person!!

when i was there they were still constructing, building other cabañas and making the place look nicer,just in front of the beach they were going to put a bar restaurant i think, i'm sure that after everything's finished there, it will look really beautiful!! although it already is!!

Esta hosteria es de lo mejor, la atencion ...

Esta hosteria es de lo mejor, la atencion es personalizada, su dueña es brasilera muy amable, las cabañas son hermosas y muy comodas, por el mismo precio se puede disfrutar el hidromasaje.

En realidad es un lugar muy acogedor con ambiente familiar en el que ademas se puede estar en contacto con la naturaleza, y está una cuadra de la playa.
