Hotel Pacífico

Hotel

V!VA User‘s Description

A clean and spacious hotel, Hotel Pacífico is the only hotel right in Puerto Lopez with a pool and one of the few places that accepts all credit cards. The rooms with AC are almost double the cost of rooms with a fan but have great ocean views and a common balcony with hammocks and patio furniture. There are phones in most rooms from which you can order room service from 07:30 - 20:00. The rooms toward the back of the hotel have fans and are definitely more moist and musty than the rooms facing the beach. The view-less rooms do have the advantage of easy access to the lovely outdoor pool. Don't be fooled by the hot tub looking kid’s pool, there is no heater.

The laundry service costs $1 per each three pieces. The price range is generally mid-range, up to $20, but there are also budget rooms with fans and shared baths.

Traveler Reviews of

Castaways Restuarant-Pto. Lopez

It's close to "in town", but, at the same time, quiet

great stay, convenient location

Rating: 100%

Our room was $40 for a double (with a/c), with balcony that is shared - which worked fine b/c the other rooms sharing it were empty, so we had two hammocks and a table with chairs to ourselves. Other upscale hotels in the area (MantaRaya, Alandaluz) may have a little more charm, but the convenience of being in town more than made up for it. The staff was super nice and accomodating (eg. gave us a late check-out no problem, etc.). There isn't room service though as it says in the review here.

I will spend more time there next time!

Rating: 75%

We only had a short time in Puerto Lopez and next time I will plan an extra day or two. The garden/pool area behind the hotel is a little oasis that deserves an afternoon of its own to fully enjoy. We booked our boat trip to the Isla de la Plata from the hotel and had a wonderful excursion. We saw quite a few whales before arriving at the Island. The hotel was secure with a friendly staff. The food at the restaurant was good and priced reasonably. They don't have an atm in the town and they charge a 22% tax to use a credit card. So bring your cash and plan to stay a while!

Really enjoyed this hotel and it was very clean.

Rating: 100%

The hotel was very nicely appointed and very clean. Can't beat relaxing on the balcony in one of those great hammocks they have there. Friendly people who were most accomodating towards us. Close to Las Frailes, which was a highlight of my trip to Ecuador. Great experience going to the beach when the fishing boats came in in the morning. Don't miss this.

While they don't have as much character as ...

While they don't have as much character as some of the hostals in town, it was very clean and their trip to see the isla de la plata and whales if they are there($30 for foreigners, $5 for locals I think) is a fun daytime excursion which leaves right from the hotel.
