Laguna Las Ninfas - Beach Puerto Ayora - Ecuador

Las Ninfas was a gorgeous, postcard-perfect place once, with emerald mangroves above a sapphire pool. Now…not so much. The mangroves are still there, and the water is still blue, but the combination of trash at the bottom of the lagoon, the disrepair of the little pier and the fact that it seems to be a magnet for surly Puerto Ayora teenagers with nothing better to do have diminished the allure. Still, if you’re in the neighborhood (or on your way to the far superior Tortuga Bay), it’s worth a little detour to see it, especially considering that the trail from the main road to the lagoon is about a 30-second walk.
Trail Difficulty: 1/5. Easiest trail in the Galapagos.
Possible to see:
Brown Pelicans
Angsty teenagers
