Punta Pitt - Hiking San Cristobal - Ecuador

Located on the far eastern shore of San Cristóbal Island, Punta Pitt is a popular site for visitors, mostly because it’s the only Galápagos visitor site where you can see all three types of Booby as well as both types of Frigatebirds. After landing on an olivine beach, the trail runs up a dry creek bed between a couple of hills before leveling out. The trail then loops through a nesting area for the aforementioned birds. The scenery is beautiful: the scrambe up the creek bed to get to the top is well worth it.

Most visits to Punta Pitt include a boat ride past a small rocky islet not far from the landing site. Many species of birds make their homes there, including the elusive Red-Billed Tropic Bird.
