In Arequipa and the Colca Canyon, there is an abundance of tours that the traveler can take, with both locations offering distinct options. Arequipa offers city tours, including a chance to visit some of the fascinating old colonial buildings. There are also adventure excursions near the city for hiking, climbing, mountain-biking, whitewater rafting or horseback riding. In the Colca Canyon, organized tours are also available for all of these same activities, particularly for hiking. A couple of good trekking tours can be taken from the village of Cabanaconde. Tours for trips to the Cruz del Cóndor can also be purchased in Arequipa or in the Colca Canyon.
