In Arequipa and the Colca Canyon, there is an abundance of tours that the traveler can take, with both locations offering distinct options. Arequipa offers city tours, including a chance to visit some of the fascinating old colonial buildings. There are also adventure excursions near the city for hiking, climbing, mountain-biking, whitewater rafting or horseback riding. In the Colca Canyon, organized tours are also available for all of these same activities, particularly for hiking. A couple of good trekking tours can be taken from the village of Cabanaconde.
