By Caroline Bennett

EDEAQ has recently been reopened in the 18th century home of famous Arequipa writer, jurist, and former Peruvian president José Luis Bustamante y Rivero near the colonial heart of town. The school takes pride in its small size and family-like atmosphere; don't expect hoards of fellow students blabbering in their native languages in the hallways. The program is personal and the prices straightforward, with a good chunk of the fees actually making its way to teachers' and host families' pockets.
