Museo Histórico Municipal - Museum Arequipa - Peru

Located near San Francisco Church, the Museo Histórico Municipal features a naval museum and historical photographs of Arequipa. One of the museum's highlights is a series of caricatures and paintings by local artist Jorge Vinatea Reynoso (1900-31). Also on these grounds is the Museo Chibaya, exhibiting a collection of pre-Incan artifacts of the Chibaya nation that had resided in the Arequipa region.
