Global Vision International’s program in Arequipa needs foreign volunteers to assist teachers in Arequipa’s underfunded and understaffed educational system, from early morning to the afternoon, particularly in the area of literacy, math, and English. Help is also needed in setting up auxiliary schools in the region and sending adults back to school (or in some cases, going to school for the first time). Part of your fee goes towards the cost of the program itself, buying books and other teaching material for the children, and even food. Volunteers will stay in their own rooms within the homes of local families.
