V!VA User‘s Description Arequipa is an important tourism travel hub, as well as one of Peru’s more important cities for business and commerce. That means that there is a wider variety of hotels and lodging than you might normally expect for a city of this size. Look around and you’ll be able to discover something for every taste and budget. You can find hotels in colonial buildings set around courtyards or newer, more modern options. Many Arequipa hotels are based very close to the colonial center, sprawling out from the Plaza de Armas and close to main historical landmarks. This is convenient for strolling around and sightseeing. If you prefer a quieter area, shop around because there are hotels in residential areas of Arequipa too. Some accommodation options offer pretty views of El Misti or the other spectacular scenery surrounding the city. If you’re looking for help getting around and seeing the city, many hotels in Arequipa offer their own city tour service. It is worth booking in advance because Arequipa is popular and hotels fill up quickly.
