La Italiana

They call themselves “La Italiana,” and this Italian joint features more than just the usual cheese pizza and spaghetti. Their “special pizzas” push new limits of creativity, with tasty combinations like prosciutto con palmito. There is also a separate, exclusively seafood menu and a nouveau Arequipa selection, with many variations of guinea pig. The design itself evokes the proud elegance of old Italy, with linen napkins folded into glasses. They take all credit cards.

Traveler Reviews of La Italiana

Big portions of tasty food

We found this restaurant by chance. It lacks the atmosphere of the cozy, little candlelit pizza places on the same street. However, my (big) vegetable risotto was the best I´ve ever had and my boyfriend recommends the pizza and veggie lasagna. This place is vegetarian friendly. The service is a bit clingy for me but if you like to be waited on, you will enjoy the attentive staff! A lucky find and good value.

Solid restaurant

Great value, good food. Nothing overly authentic, but for Arequipa the quality is very good. Huge selection and different seating areas.

la italiana

Excelente restaurante, acogedor y de buena atencion. En horas de la noche punto de reunion para departir una cena romantica. Cuenta con 3 salones el princiapl hermosisimo en verdad. La cocina A1 por su sabor y presentacion.

Family Recommended January 2008

Incredible dish selection from three menus. The chef deserves a 4-5 star rating. Dishes were well prepared with a splendid presentation. Waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable. Great wine selection, I had my eye on a 2002 Don Melchor. Maybe I'll be back soon to enjoy it.
