One of the most respected rafting companies in Arequipa is Cusipata. This company does daily expeditions on the RÃo Chili, beginning at the Santuario de la Virgen de Chapi in Cayma (3.5 hr, $30 plus tax). After a briefing from the guide about rafting safety, you hit a six-kilometer (4 mi) stretch of the river, going through Class II-IV rapids, to AcequÃa Alta. All safety equipment (helmet, lifejacket, wetsuit, etc.) is provided. In season, Cusipata rafts the Colca River, too. The operator also has bicycle tours from Yanahuara to AcequÃa Alta on Yukon double-suspension bikes (3 hr, $19).
