Aguas Termales De Yura - Other Activity Arequipa - Peru

After trekking through the canyons or climbing Misti, your muscles just might need some pure relaxation. The hot springs (aguas termales) at Yura could be just the remedy you need. A handful of enclosed pools (29-34ºC / 84-93ºF) are within walking distance of each other. On the gate, each pool lists the temperature and medicinal properties: good for skin, muscle, bone or other ailment. Each one charges its own entry fee. The pools are cleaned every day. The most tranquil days are Monday-Thursday. Sunday is very busy.

Getting There

From Avenida Tacna y Arica and Calle M. Hidalgo near the old train station, catch a bus for Yura (every 40 minutes 6 a.m.-4 p.m., last return 5 p.m.; 45 min, $0.70). Ask the driver to let you off at the aguas termales.

Travel Tips:

There are restaurants across the road from the hot springs. Be sure to watch your time, so you don’t miss the last bus back. The village also has a Hotel de Turistas (Tel: 054-495-025). For more information, visit: www.muniyura.gob.pe.
