As testimony to its popularity with Colca Canyon visitors, Chivay has almost three dozen lodging options, ranging from inexpensive, basic hospedajes (hostels) to upscale hotels. Some of the most luxurious accommodations are located several kilometers out of town and have their own thermal spring pools. Most tour groups stay in this village. Camping is difficult (and not recommended, for possibility of theft).
