Colca Lodge

Location:
Chivay, Peru

Hotel

By Paula Newton

Affiliated with the Hotel Libertador chain, the Colca Lodge is located approximately six miles out of Chivay’s town center. Constructed from stone and mud, with thatched roofs, the rooms are solar heated with an outdoor terrace to take in the spectactular scenery. Rooms have a private bathroom with heating and hot water. The hotel restaurant offers fairly pricy, but good meals and a buffet breakfast is included in the room price. To relax, there is a pleasant living room, a bar and a games room, however, the highlight of this place is the hot springs which source their water from local volcanic sources. The water is then chanelled to pretty pools.
