The Pozo del Cielo Hotel is tastefully constructed from local stone and consists of twenty large rustic rooms decorated with local handicrafts. Singles, doubles and triples are available. The hotel boasts hot water, heating and carpeting, which in this part of Peru is necessary as the temperature can get down to 0ºC. In the restaurant, traditional foods are served, along with freshly baked homemade bread and herbal teas. For something stronger, head to the bar, which promises, “Classic and exotic drinks.” Guests of Pozo enjoy panoramic views and the option of a Mystical Tour which includes a visit to community spiritual doctors and local crafts manufacturers. In addition to all of this the hotel offers money exchange, tourist information, a laundry service, taxi service and board games.

Pozo del cielo

A lovely rustic property with great views over the town of Chivay especially at sunrise on the way to the Colca Canyon. Warm and cosy. We had a very large room, with a massive double bed. Excellent breakfast. Did not have dinner, but dining room looked nice and romantic.
