Getting to and away from Chivay

Finding your feet in Chivay is fairly straightforward as buses arrive in the centrally located Plaza de Armas. From Arequipa, the trip takes three to four hours and costs around $4. The bus trip to Cabanaconde takes anywhere from two to three hours. The Plaza is a good arrival point for Chivay as tourist information is available here.
