There are a number of tour operators that can provide Colca Canyon tours. A lot of the best companies are based out of Arequipa. It is worth spending a little time to find the right tour, as tours to the Colca Canyon vary significantly in quality and price. Many people visit the Colca Canyon to spot condors, but as well as trips that take in the Cruz del Condor, it is possible to go on hiking and trekking tours, or rafting tours. Cabanaconde is the starting point for a few great hikes—for some of these it is strongly recommended to go with a knowledgeable guide from an established tour operator. Hiking tours in the Colca Canyon can last anywhere from a couple of days to ten or more days. In addition to hiking tours, some companies offer climbing trips and tours that include rafting or mountain biking are also available.
