Tacna, Peru
Spa/Hot Springs
For those wanting to get out of the city for a bit and relax, the baths of Calientes are a good option. The waters of the baths are said to have medicinal qualities and are supposed to be good for the skin. The town Calientes is located approximately 22 kilometers outside of Tacna and the journey takes around 30 minutes.
Getting There
Catch a minibus from Tacna Centro on 2 de Mayo ($1, 40 minutes) or go by taxi $3.35-5 one way, 30 minutes) and take a combi back into town.
Travel Tips: There is a two-star lodge on site. Calientes can be combines with a trip to Miculla (about 30 minutes away walking). The hot springs are popular on Sundays.
Price Description: Individual $5, couple $6.70
Days Closed:Open 24 hours, but better to go during daylight hours if not staying at the site's hotel.
